Not so fast

On May 7, 2011 Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao will put his WBO Welterweight title on the line at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.  Pacquiao, fresh off the Beatdown of 2010, is the #1 pound for pound fighter, a future hall of famer, and arguably the greatest fighter to ever step in the ring.

Oh, by the way, his opponent is 39 year old "Sugar" Shane Mosley who happened to go 0-1-1 in 2010.  Don't be fooled by that record, Mosley had a worse year then his abysmal record shows.  He had one, maybe two good rounds with his highlight of the year coming in the form of two right hands that wobbled Floyd Mayweather in round two of their May 1st match up.
I am not going to make a prediction on this fight because, well, I hate being wrong so I just won't do it.  What I will say is this.  Don't be surprised if Mosley shows up with the right tools to beat Pacquiao.  Mosley is old and looked it in his September draw with a lesser fighter in Mora.  What everyone seems to refuse to acknowledge is that Mosley had essentially been in training camp for the entire year which has to take its toll on an older fighter.  He was in training camp before his January fight with Andre Berto was canceled due to the Haitian earthquake, then he scrambled as Mayweather became available for a May fight in which Mosley was handled from round 3 on.  Then, Mosley entered into another training camp for his atrocious September draw with Mora.
Mosley is 39 years old and he is facing one of the greatest fighters of all time and he is a huge underdog, however, Mosley is also one of the greats of this era and I promise you he will show up looking to trade and push the action.  Then again I could be wrong.
